Top 10 plus size fashion illustrations

The fashion world is changing – we see more and more curvy models walking the runways and on the covers of magazines. This is something that we as designers and illustrators should take note of and create art that loves all sizes. In this post, we will see how some of the most talented illustrators in the world draw plus size girls and we will talk about the techniques they’ve used.

The best plus-size illustrations:

Shamekh

A fresh, cute illustration of a plus size model wearing pastel colors. Notice that the artist chose not to use any black outlines here, as they would’ve clashed with the airy pastel tones. Even the shadow behind her back is a light pastel purple instead of the expected dark gray. Always think of your sketch as a whole!

Natalia Madej

At first look this illustration looks quite casual, but don’t let the first impression fool you. Look at the details like the watch, the buttons of the jeans and the shine on the lips of the girl, and you’ll realize that it took a lot of time to make this artwork look so effortless. It’s what an illustrator’s job is – to make it look easy – an overworked artwork is not what we’re going after.
